When people think of education, they often think of the usual tracks. It only takes a moment of thought to realise that there might be better options. To change the rules, we must first recognise the problems with the way things are now and actively look for new ways to do things.
One of these realisations came from a deep experience that our founder at Teach to Earn shared. His thought made a point of showing how important it is to not only criticise current models but also work to make better ones. As time went on, it became clear that the usual way of teaching, where kids learn about and copy certain jobs, might not always be best for them.
The story starts with Khan Academy being recognised as a unique place. Khan Academy has received praise for more than ten years as an example of a top-notch educational program that is accessible to everyone, regardless of location or financial situation. It is a world leader in educational tools because it is free to use, has a full programme, and uses technology in new ways. Given that Bill Gates and other influential people funded Khan Academy and that its mission is to be the best, it is a fantastic illustration of perseverance and adaptability.
But in the middle of all this great schooling came Byju’s, which was a lot like Khan Academy with one important difference. When Byju added capital to its business plan, it had to change its focus to making money. At first, it might have seemed like a copy, but adding financial rewards pushed people to come up with new ideas and adapt to new situations.
Despite all of these changes, one main idea keeps coming up: education is the most important thing for kids. It’s not enough to just copy current models; we need to use new technology to make things easier to get and have better quality. We at Teach to Earn think that we need to make a new path that puts cost and quality in education first.
Our journey starts with a cheap PC that was made just for kids to learn on, which is available for just 10k. The goal of this project is to make education more democratic by giving everyone, from low-income families to high-income families, access to high-quality materials. We know that giving our kids the tools and information they need to survive in a world that is always changing is the best way to give them real power.
As we start this path of change, we ask parents and teachers to join us in rethinking how kids learn. Let’s break free from custom and welcome new ideas, starting a new age of growth and learning. One cheap PC at a time, let’s give our kids the tools they need to reach their full potential. Join the Teach to Earn movement with us.
