Many educated women choose to stay at home, even though they are professionally qualified and could very easily earn money by getting a job, because they want to give their kids the best possible education. They believe the best way to bring up kids well is by being physically present at home, and they take pride in being excellent parents and homemakers so that their kids will have a better future.
Unfortunately, they find that even though they are at home, their ability to give their kids a good education starts getting constrained once their kids enter school . This is partly because the quality of our obsolete schooling system leaves a lot to be desired, and most of these kids just end up cramming their teacher’s notes or the content in their textbooks. I agree with every word of this blog. The problem of overqualified stay-at-home moms is a rising concern. Also, when they come back into the workforce, they mainly get exploited at lower than industry-standard working wages. They are clueless and feel helpless in this regard. This should definitely be addressed by the employers.
